LGC Clinical Diagnostics' operating entities - SeraCare Life Sciences & Maine Standards Company - provide essential services and are permitted to continue to operate in accordance with the the definitions and policies provided by Homeland Security CISA Director, Christopher C. Krebs, in a letter dated March 19, 2020:
- “If you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, such as healthcare service and pharmaceutical and food supply, you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule.”
- “Workers providing COVID-19 testing; Workers that perform critical clinical research needed for COVID-19 response.”
The staff at each of our three facilities are involved in the development, production and distribution of critical clinical diagnostic materials, including those directly related to the diagnosis of COVID-19. These products are supplied to public health, hospital and commercial laboratories across the globe.
Staff who are not required on-site are working remotely. On-site staff have implemented rigorous social distancing and cleaning procedures, along with modified work schedules to reduce the headcount in the facility.
