What is Peer Group Analysis?

Peer Group Analysis is an analysis of your recovered calibration verification / linearity testing results as they compare to your peers.  In addition to a Linearity Analysis, a Peer Group Analysis is provided on the same report page.  A more in-depth discussion of the Peer Group Analysis is provided on this page.

How is a peer group determined?

A peer group is defined as instruments using the same method to test for an analyte with the same VALIDATE® lot.  Instruments are grouped by instrument brand or model as appropriate.  Maine Standards Company will compare your result to the appropriate peer group based on the information you provided to us in the Peer Group Setup Packet.

Does the data submission process change with the addition of Peer Group Analysis?

Submission of data for peer group analysis will be similar to the previous method of submitting data to Maine Standards Company.  The only change is that now you will be required to report a Method ID for each analyte, as opposed to just the analyte abbreviation.  Method IDs can be found in the Peer Group Setup Packet we provide.
